We have many students like you who come from different backgrounds - non-design related - and the answer is yes!

You should be familiar with and have access to a design software such as Photoshop, Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch. Additionally, to manage your freelancing business, it’s good to have some knowledge of Google Sheets, Excel, Airtable, Coda or Notion.

For logo design, we demonstrate how to use Adobe Illustrator but alternatives like Affinity designer works just as well (Figma is also a vector editing tool, which you can work with, but for Logo design we recommend using a more robust vector editing tool like Adobe Illustrator).

For some of our templates we use Adobe InDesign which is great for layouts that you can later export as PDFs, but the same layouts can be achieved with any other design software as well. 

Having access to a bitmap editing tool like Adobe Photoshop or Affinity Photo is also helpful to create designs & mockups that go beyond vector editing. 

Finally, we use Figma for the submission of projects in this course, a free Figma account is enough for our needs.

For web design, we suggest tools like Figma, Adobe XD or Sketch - but you can also use other tools if you’re more comfortable with them.

As it happens for the Brand Design Mastery course, for the Web Design: Becoming a Professional, you’ll need a free Figma account to submit projects for review and certification - you can do the work on other apps, but to submit, you’ll be using Figma.

Our All Access program is a yearly subscription and it grants you access to all our courses, expert support with Flux Academy mentors, and weekly office hours with Ran Segall for 12 months. Once your subscription expires, you will lose access unless you choose to manually renew. We'll send you a reminder when your subscription is nearing its end so you can decide if you want to continue your learning journey with us. We’ll never auto-bill your account for the All Access program, you’ll have to renew it manually.
